Samsung's next budget phone, the Galaxy A02, is shaping up with a big 5,000mAh battery, according to a new report. Expected to launch in mid-December as the successor to the Galaxy A01, the phone is tipped to stay affordable at under $200.

According to SamMobile, the Galaxy A02 will pack a 5,000mAh battery - a significant jump from the 3,000mAh cell in the Galaxy A01. The report also points to a 5.7-inch HD+ LCD with an edge-to-edge, waterdrop-notch design and a bottom bezel, running at a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. There is no information yet about a fingerprint sensor.
Cameras and performance
On the back, the A02 is expected to feature a dual camera setup with a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor, plus an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls. Power reportedly comes from an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 paired with 2GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of storage, expandable via microSD. The phone is said to run Android 10 and retain a 3.5mm headphone jack.
