Vivo has launched the Vivo V80, the latest smartphone in its
V-Series, in India. The company has introduced it with significant upgrades in
camera, display, and battery departments. The phone features a ZEISS camera
setup, a 1.5K AMOLED display, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a massive 7,200mAh
battery. Additionally, it comes with 90W fast charging, the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4
processor, and Android 17-based OriginOS 7.
The Vivo V80 has been introduced in India in three storage
variants. The 8GB+128GB model is priced at ₹62,999, the 8GB+256GB model at
₹69,999, and the 8GB+512GB model at ₹79,999. The phone will be available in
Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue, and Stellar Black color options. Sales will take
place via the Vivo India website, Amazon, Flipkart, and offline stores.
Pre-bookings have already begun, and sales will start on October 13. Regarding
launch offers, customers can avail a 10% cashback using select bank cards.
Additionally, a 10% exchange bonus is being offered. The phone can also be
purchased via No-Cost EMI.
The Vivo V80 sports a 6.59-inch 1.5K AMOLED display. The
screen offers a resolution of 2750×1260 pixels and supports a 120Hz refresh
rate. The display is capable of rendering 1.07 billion colors and boasts a
local peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits. The phone features slim 1.25mm
bezels, resulting in an improved screen-to-body ratio.
For performance, the Vivo V80 is powered by the Qualcomm
Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor. This is an octa-core chipset built on 4nm
technology, with a maximum clock speed of 2.8GHz. It includes an Adreno 722 GPU
for graphics. The phone comes with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.
Users can also utilize additional virtual RAM via Vivo's Extended RAM feature.
There is no option to expand storage via a microSD card.
The standout feature of the Vivo V80 is its ZEISS camera
system. It sports a triple-camera setup on the rear, headlined by a 50MP ZEISS
main camera with an f/1.88 aperture and OIS support; this camera utilizes the
Sony LYTIA 700V sensor. Accompanying it is a 50MP ZEISS Night Telephoto camera
(f/2.65) featuring the Sony IMX882 sensor; this camera supports OIS, 3x optical
zoom, and up to 100x zoom. The third camera is an 8MP ZEISS ultra-wide-angle
lens (f/2.2) with a 115-degree field of view.
For selfies and video calls, the phone is equipped with a
50MP ZEISS Group Selfie camera (f/2.0). The front camera features autofocus and
a 92-degree field of view. The device supports 4K 60fps video recording as well
as 4K Cinematic Video.
The Vivo V80 houses a 7,200mAh battery, marking the largest
battery capacity ever seen in the V-Series. According to the company, the phone
offers up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local
video playback. It supports 90W FlashCharge, allowing the large battery to be
charged quickly.
In terms of software, the Vivo V80 arrives in India running
OriginOS 7 based on Android 17. It is the first smartphone in the V-Series to
launch with OriginOS 7. The phone also features over 30 AI-powered creative
tools, including features like Live Sticker Collage and AI Diwali Portrait 2.0.
The Vivo V80 weighs approximately 203 grams and has a
thickness of 7.69mm. It features a glass back and a 3D ultrasonic in-display
fingerprint sensor. The device also holds IP68 and IP69 ratings. Connectivity
options include 5G, dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, an IR Blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, and
dual SIM support. The phone is also equipped with stereo speakers.
