MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor launched, competing with Snapdragon and Apple A18 with great features
MediaTek has launched its new flagship-tier smartphone processor MediaTek Dimensity 9400.The company claimed that the new system-on-chip (SoC) delivers 35 percent faster performance on a single core compared to its previous chip. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 processor competes directly with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and the Apple A18 series chipset. Here we are telling you in detail about MediaTek Dimensity 9400.
Mediatek Dimensity 9400 Features
The tech giant revealed the new mobile platform in a press release. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset is a fourth-generation flagship processor built with Arm’s v9.2 CPU architecture as well as discrete GPU and Neural Processing Unit (NPU) architecture. Especially it is built on TSMC’s second generation 3nm fabrication process. Continuing the all-big core design, it features one Cortex-X925 core, three Cortex-X4 cores, and four Cortex-A720 cores with a maximum clock speed of 3.62GHz. The company claims that the CPU architecture provides 35 percent faster single-core performance and 28 percent faster multi-core performance compared to the Dimensity 9300. It provides 40 percent more power efficiency than its previous processor.
The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset also integrates the company’s eighth-generation NPU and provides developer support for on-device LoRA training, on-device video generation capabilities, and agentive artificial intelligence (AI). The company claimed that the SoC can deliver up to 80 percent faster large language model (LLM) performance while maintaining 35 percent higher power efficiency compared to the previous generation.
As far as GPU is concerned, the mobile platform is integrated with 12-core Arm Immortalis-G925, which is said to provide 40 percent faster raytracing performance compared to its previous processor. Apart from this, MediaTek claims that it also offers 41 percent peak performance improvement and 44 percent power saving compared to the Dimensity 9300. The chipset also supports HyperEngine technology. The MediaTek Dimensity 9400 features the Imagick 1090 for on-device image processing. There are also some minor changes like HDR video recording at full zoom range, improvements in capturing moving objects and lower power consumption while recording 4K60 fps video compared to its previous processor.
