At a virtual CES 2021, Razer unveiled two attention-grabbing concepts: the Razer Project Hazel smart mask and Project Brooklyn, a gaming chair built around a 60-inch rollable OLED display. Razer, a manufacturer of electronic devices, positioned the mask as a smarter answer to everyday protection during the COVID-19 pandemic, while the chair reimagines what a gaming seat can be. Here is what each concept brings to the table.
Because the coronavirus (COVID-19) has caused havoc worldwide over the past year, events including CES 2021 are being held virtually this year. The N95 mask is most helpful in avoiding COVID-19, and Project Hazel is designed around that idea, pairing active ventilation with a sterilizing air purification system that disinfects the air while breathing.
Razer Project Hazel smart mask
Razer calls Project Hazel the most intelligent mask it has ever made. The Razer Project Hazel smart mask uses a sterilizing air purification system and active ventilation to keep the air clean as you breathe. It also includes lights that turn on automatically in the dark, with a low light mode to help save battery.
The mask ships with a wireless charging case and UV light. The UV light disinfects the air while breathing, killing bacteria and viruses. When the battery runs low, the indicator shifts from green to red light, and once charging is complete the red light turns back to green.
Key Project Hazel features
- Inbuilt microphone and amplifier for clearer speech.
- 16 million colors and customizable effects.
- Customizable settings for a better fit on your face.
- Active ventilation that releases hot air while breathing so vapor does not stay trapped inside the mask.
- Made from recycled plastic material, with water and dust resistance.
- Replaceable filters and ventilation.
Project Brooklyn gaming chair
Razer also introduced Project Brooklyn, a concept gaming chair aimed at gaming lovers. Its standout feature is a 60-inch rollout curved OLED display panel that transforms the chair into a full flared entertainment ring.
When not in use, the 60-inch rollable display retreats into the back of the chair. The armrest offers the option of switching between console and PC gaming, and the chair comes with Croma RGB lighting and leather stitched seats.
