Important information about Motorola’s upcoming flagship ‘Nio’
Motorola’s next flagship phone may come with a 105Hz refresh rate. The Lenovo-owned company already owns Motorola Edge and Edge + flagship phones with 90Hz displays. However, it appears that the company is planning to make some minor changes to the upcoming flagship. The latest news comes a few days after the phone’s main specifications were leaked, which revealed that the upcoming alleged Motorola Nio will be equipped with Snapdragon 865 chipset and may come with up to 12 GB RAM and a dual selfie camera.
Mishaal Rahman of XDA Developers on Twitter said that the rumored Motorola ‘Nio’ will have its default peak refresh rate set at 105Hz. This sounds a bit strange to hear, as the display’s refresh rate is normally in multiple times of 24 and 30 frames per second. However, Asus reportedly took a similar step and tested the 160Hz refresh rate mode on its ROG Phone 3. However, Asus did not offer this mode to the public.
Adam Conway of XDA Developers estimated that Motorola is testing this 105Hz refresh rate while developing the device and will set it to 90Hz at the time of its official launch. It may be that the company chooses a higher refit rate for scrolling in UIs or apps and keeps the commonly used 90Hz for video playback.

The phone is also rumored to have a triple rear camera, which will have a 64-megapixel primary OmniVision OV64B sensor. Apart from this, there is said to be a dual camera in the front of the Motorola smartphone, which will have a 16-megapixel primary sensor and an 8-megapixel secondary sensor.
Motorola can bring the new phone to the market with Android 11. It is also rumored to be launched in the first quarter of next year.
