US-based device maker Apple has launched new variants of the
Mac Studio and Mac Mini in India. The Mac Studio comes with the M5 Max and the
new M5 Ultra chipset. The Mac Mini can be configured with the M5 Pro and the
new M6 silicon. Apple has stated that these desktops will deliver enhanced
Artificial Intelligence (AI) performance.
Prices of the New Mac Studio and Mac Mini
The Mac Studio with the M5 Max is priced at ₹2,79,000. The
more powerful M5 Ultra version of this desktop is priced at ₹6,29,900. Under
the education plan, these desktops are priced at ₹2,56,900 and ₹5,84,900,
respectively. The Mac Mini is priced at ₹99,900 with the M6 processor and ₹2,09,900
with the M5 Pro. Under the education plan, the prices for these models are
₹88,990 and ₹1,97,900. Pre-orders for all four models have begun.
Specifications and Features of the New Mac Studio
The M5 silicon-powered model of this desktop offers improved
performance while retaining a compact design. Apple states that this desktop
delivers 4.3x faster AI performance and 1.8x faster graphics performance. The
M5 Max variant of the Mac Studio is available with up to 128GB of unified
memory. Apple claims that this desktop can handle uncompressed 8K video footage
and multiple video streams.
The M5 Ultra version of the Mac Studio can be configured
with 512GB of unified memory. Apple claims it offers 4.3 times faster AI
performance and up to 1.8 times faster graphics. This chipset is designed for
heavy video and AI workflows. Both versions of the Mac Studio run on macOS 27.
New Mac Mini Specifications and Features
The M6-powered version of this desktop features a 12-core
CPU and a 12-core GPU. It offers four times faster AI performance and twice the
graphics speed compared to the M4 version of the Mac Mini. The M5 Pro version
of the Mac Mini can be configured with an 18-core CPU and a 20-core GPU. This
desktop supports up to 64 GB of unified memory.
Both Mac Mini variants feature Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, two USB-C
ports, and a headphone jack for connectivity. HDMI, Ethernet, and three
Thunderbolt ports are located on the rear. The M6 model of this desktop
features Thunderbolt 4, while the M5 Pro variant comes with Thunderbolt 5.
