Redmi 17 5G Launched Internationally with 7,500mAh Battery; Check Price and Features

Redmi, a major smartphone brand, has launched the Redmi 17 5G in the international market. The Redmi 17 4G has also been introduced alongside it. While the Redmi 17 5G was recently unveiled in China, the Redmi 17 4G was not released there. The Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, whereas the Chinese variant of the smartphone features a Unisoc chipset.

In Malaysia, the Redmi 17 5G is priced at MYR 769 (approximately ₹17,920) for the 4GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, and MYR 869 (approximately ₹20,260) for the 4GB + 256GB variant. The Redmi 17 4G is available in a single variant with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, priced at MYR 669 (approximately ₹15,600). The Redmi 17 5G comes in Deep Blue, Vivid Orange, and Black colors, while the Redmi 17 4G is available in Deep Blue, Lotus Purple, Oak Green, and Black.

These dual-SIM smartphones feature a 6.9-inch HD+ (720 x 1,600 pixels) display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, a touch sampling rate of up to 240Hz, and a peak brightness of 825 nits. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. These smartphones run on Xiaomi's HyperOS 3, based on Android 16. The Redmi 17 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 4 Gen 5 processor, while the Redmi 17 4G features the MediaTek Helio G91-Ultra. Both smartphones come with a 50-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.

Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. Storage on these smartphones can be expanded up to 2TB via a microSD card. Both the Redmi 17 5G and Redmi 17 4G house a 7,500mAh battery that supports 45W wired fast charging and 22.5W reverse wired charging. For security, they feature a side-mounted fingerprint scanner.
