Xiaomi has launched its new Redmi 17 5G smartphone in China.
This is the company's latest budget 5G phone, featuring a 6300mAh battery, a
120Hz display, the Unisoc T8300 processor, and HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
The phone is available in three color options and comes equipped with a 13MP
rear camera. It also includes the 'Wet Touch 2.0' feature to ensure a better
screen experience during rainy conditions.
In China, the starting price for the Redmi 17 5G is 999 Yuan
(approximately ₹14,000) for the 4GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. Meanwhile, the
6GB RAM + 128GB model is priced at 1,199 Yuan (approximately ₹17,000). The
smartphone will be available in Cold Mist Blue, Feather Mist White, and Star
Rock Black color options.
The Redmi 17 5G features a 6.9-inch HD+ LCD display that
supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 800 nits. The screen
also includes DC Dimming and Wet Touch 2.0 capabilities. For photography, the
device sports a 13MP rear camera, while an 8MP front camera handles selfies and
video calls.
The phone's standout feature is its massive 6300mAh battery.
It supports 15W wired fast charging and 7.5W reverse wired charging.
Performance is driven by the Unisoc T8300 octa-core processor (built on a 6nm
process), paired with LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2 storage. For connectivity, it
offers features such as 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C, GPS,
Galileo, and QZSS. Additionally, the phone includes sensors like an ambient
light sensor, accelerometer, and e-compass. It runs on HyperOS 3, based on Android
16.
