Poco has launched its new Poco M8 Power smartphone in India.
The phone features a 6.9-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 4 Gen 4
processor, 50MP AI dual-camera setup, and runs on Android 16-based Xiaomi
HyperOS 3. It has been introduced at a starting price of ₹25,000, entering one
of the most competitive market segments. The standout feature (USP) of the Poco
M8 Power is its massive 8000mAh Silicon-Carbon battery, which promises extended
battery life.
The Poco M8 Power has been launched in two variants: 6GB +
128GB and 8GB + 128GB, priced at ₹24,999 and ₹27,999, respectively. However,
under a launch offer valid for the first 12 hours, customers can avail of a
₹1,000 coupon discount along with a ₹2,000 instant bank discount or exchange
bonus, bringing the effective price down to ₹21,999 and ₹24,999.
The smartphone will go on sale on Flipkart starting August
7. Customers will also have the option to purchase it with a no-cost EMI plan
for up to 9 months.
The highlight of the Poco M8 Power is its 8000mAh
Silicon-Carbon battery. It incorporates Xiaomi's Surge G1 Battery Management
Chip, designed to optimize battery performance. The phone supports 45W fast
charging, and a 45W charger is included in the box. Additionally, it features
22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing it to function as a power bank to charge
other devices when needed. The phone features a 6.9-inch FHD+ AMOLED display
with a 120Hz refresh rate, 1800 nits peak brightness, and DCI-P3 color gamut
support. It also includes features such as Sunlight Display, TÜV Eye
Protection, Wet Touch 2.0, and an in-display fingerprint sensor.
For photography, the Poco M8 Power is equipped with a 50MP
AI dual rear camera setup. The camera app offers features like Film Filters,
Dynamic Photos, Pro Mode, Time-lapse, Panorama, Document Mode, and Voice
Shutter. Additionally, it has an 8MP front camera for selfies and video
calling, supporting features such as Video Beauty, Fill Light, and
Teleprompter.
In terms of performance, the smartphone is powered by the
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 chipset, built on a 4nm process. It comes with up
to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM, up to 8GB of virtual RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.
The phone also includes features like Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection, 5G
connectivity, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.1, and an IR Blaster.
Regarding software, the Poco M8 Power runs on Xiaomi HyperOS
3, based on Android 16. The company has promised 4 years of Android/software
updates and 6 years of security updates for this device.
