Redmi has launched the Redmi Turbo 5, the first smartphone
in its new Turbo series, in the Indian market. Previously introduced in China,
the smartphone is now available in India. The Redmi Turbo 5 is equipped with
the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, a massive 7540mAh battery, 100W
fast charging, and a 1.5K display with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the
phone comes with IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, offering superior
protection against dust and water.
Redmi Turbo 5 Price and Availability
The Redmi Turbo 5 has been launched in India in Asphalt
Black, Nitro Blue, and Turbo White color options. Sales for the smartphone will
begin on June 19 via Amazon, Mi.com, and other offline and online retail
channels.
Regarding pricing, the 8GB + 256GB variant of the Redmi
Turbo 5 is priced at approximately ₹37,999, while the 12GB + 256GB storage
variant costs around ₹40,999. The company has also announced launch offers,
including an additional discount of up to ₹2,000 on select bank cards.
Redmi Turbo 5 Specifications
The Redmi Turbo 5 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K Fluid Display
with a resolution of 2712×1220 pixels. This display supports a 120Hz refresh
rate, 480Hz touch sampling rate, HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and a peak brightness of
up to 3500 nits. Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection is provided for the
screen. The phone is equipped with a 7,540mAh battery that supports 100W fast
charging. Additionally, it supports 27W reverse wired charging. It is powered
by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, paired with up to 12GB
of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of UFS 4.1 storage. The phone also supports virtual
RAM expansion, allowing the RAM to be increased by an additional 12GB. For
thermal management, it features a 3D Ice-Loop Cooling System.
For photography, the Redmi Turbo 5 sports a dual-camera
setup on the rear, comprising a 50-megapixel primary camera (with OIS and EIS
support) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera. A 20-megapixel front camera is
provided for selfies and video calling.
Connectivity features include 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB
Type-C, and other standard options. The device runs on Android 16-based HyperOS
3 and features an aerospace-grade metal frame for a premium build. The phone
has a thickness of 8.18mm and also includes an IR blaster.
