Sharp Aquos R9 Pro has been launched with Snapdragon 8S Gen 3 chipset. The phone comes with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. It has a Leica-supported 50.3-megapixel triple rear camera unit including a 65mm telephoto lens. The handset will go on sale in Japan in early December and will later be introduced in Taiwan, Indonesia and Singapore. The company has not yet announced the price of the phone. Sharp Aquos R9 was launched in May this year with Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset and 50.3-megapixel dual rear camera setup.

Talking about the specifications of Sharp Aquos R9 Pro, it has a 6.7-inch Quad HD + (3,120 x 1,440 pixels) Pro IGZO OLED display, which comes with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 SoC, paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of onboard storage. The phone comes with Android 14 out-of-the-box.
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro features a Leica-supported triple rear camera unit, which includes a large 1/0.98-inch 50.3-megapixel primary sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) support. There are two more 50.3-megapixel sensors, one an ultra-wide angle lens and the other a 1/1.56-inch telephoto shooter. The handset gets a 50.3-megapixel sensor on the front.
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro comes with an IPX5, IPX8, and IP6X rated build for protection against dust and splashes. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and e-SIM support. The phone comes with support for Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. Its assistant is equipped with many generic AI features.
The Sharp Aquos R9 Pro has a 5,000mAh battery. For security, the phone comes with Qualcomm’s 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. It also has a mask-compatible face recognition feature. The handset measures 162 x 78 x 9.3 mm and weighs 229 grams.
