The HONOR 90 series has officially arrived in China, with HONOR unveiling two new smartphones — the HONOR 90 and the HONOR 90 Pro — that pack a headline-grabbing 200MP rear camera and a 50MP selfie shooter into slim, jewellery-inspired designs. Although HONOR is not currently active in India, the HONOR 90 series represents a significant step forward for the brand and is worth following closely by gadget enthusiasts.
HONOR 90 Series Design and Display
Both phones in the lineup share a slim, lightweight chassis with quad-curved edges and a dual-ring camera design on the rear that gives each device an unmistakable premium, jewellery-like finish. The phones are available in four colours: Midnight Black, Emerald Green, Diamond Silver, and Peacock Blue.
The displays are equally impressive. The standard HONOR 90 gets a 6.7-inch FHD+ OLED quad-curved screen with a resolution of 2664×1200 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 100% DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage, and a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. The HONOR 90 Pro bumps the panel up to 6.78 inches at 2700×1224 pixels, with all other display specs remaining the same. Both models support 3840Hz high-frequency PWM dimming as well as Dynamic Dimming and Circadian Night display modes — features designed to reduce eye strain and minimise the impact of screen light on the body's natural rhythms.
Cameras: 200MP Rear and 50MP Front on Both Models
Photography is where the HONOR 90 series makes its boldest statement. Both phones are anchored by a 200MP primary camera with a 1/1.4-inch sensor, delivering exceptional detail in good light.
The HONOR 90 Pro expands the rear system with a 32MP telephoto portrait lens featuring f/2.4 aperture, optical image stabilisation (OIS), 2.5x optical zoom, and up to 50x hybrid zoom. The standard HONOR 90 rounds out its triple-camera setup with a 12MP ultra-wide lens and a 2MP depth sensor instead. On the front, both devices carry a 50MP selfie camera, with the Pro model pairing it with an additional 2MP sensor for enhanced portrait depth.
Performance and Battery
Under the hood, the two phones diverge on chipset. The HONOR 90 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor alongside an Adreno 644 GPU — a solid mid-range chip well-suited to everyday multitasking and gaming. The HONOR 90 Pro steps up to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 with an Adreno 730 GPU, making it a genuine flagship-tier performer capable of handling demanding workloads and high-frame-rate gaming without breaking a sweat.
Both phones are backed by a 5000mAh battery. Charging speeds differ: the HONOR 90 supports 66W SuperCharge fast charging, while the Pro model charges at a faster 90W.
