Windows 7 and 8.1 discontinued, now Microsoft will not give any updates.

Microsoft has ended support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. This means that Microsoft will no longer release any system updates or security updates for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Microsoft had already said that it will not provide security updates for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 from January 10, 2023, and technical updates will also not be issued.

After this move of Microsoft, Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will not get new security updates and will not get technical support. WebView2 support for developers has also ended on January 10. With its help, developers update their apps.

Google said in October last year that it is also discontinuing support for the Google Chrome browser for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The new version of Google Chrome in Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will also not be supported after February 7.

Due to lack of security updates, Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 will remain on the target of hackers and the possibility of getting bugs will be more. By the end of 2021, the number of users of Windows 7 was 100 million. In such a situation, all these users will have to update their Windows.

According to a survey conducted a few months ago, 27 million more computers are working on Windows XP, 7 and 8 than on Windows 11 worldwide. Microsoft warned Windows 7 users in 2020 itself.
