At the Qualcomm Summit 2022, Qualcomm has launched Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, the most powerful mobile processor ever. This mobile processor can be seen in many upcoming flagship smartphones, including Vivo X90 Series, Oppo Find X6 Series, iQOO 11 Series, OnePlus 11 Series, Samsung Galaxy S23 Series etc.

What is special in Snapdragon 8 Gen 2?
Qualcomm has upgraded the CPU of this new mobile processor. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 will get the new Kyro CPU design (1+4+3), which includes 1 prime core, 4 gold cores and 3 efficiency cores. Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 gets 1+3+4 design, which is based on 1 prime core, 3 gold cores and 4 efficiency cores.
This octa-core processor works on 4nm process node. In this, clock speed up to 3.2GHz is available in single core. The company claims that it will perform up to 35 percent better than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 launched last year.
There will be a big upgrade in GPU
The GPU of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 has also been improved. It will work 25 percent faster than the previous generation. SD Gen 2 gets Adreno 740 GPU, which is faster as well as consumes 40 percent less energy. Qualcomm has given ray tracing feature to increase the performance of its hardware. This feature will give real life experience during gaming. In which the effects of light, reflection etc. will look natural. It also supports Unreal Engine 5 and the Metahuman Framework. Its thermal performance has also been improved, which increases battery life during gaming.
Qualcomm has also improved the display performance of this next generation processor. It can support QHD+ screen with up to 144Hz refresh rate. Also, it will support 4K quality at 60Hz refresh rate as well. Apart from this, it also has support for many great features including 10-bit color depth, Dolby Vision, HDR10, HDR10+.
200MP camera support
Like Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, it will also support 200MP camera feature. However, it will get a new Cognitive ISP feature, which will automatically enhance the clicked photos and videos in real time using semantic segmentation. It uses an AI neural network that detects face, skin tone, hair, clothing and facial features and optimizes them in real time.
Apart from this, the Spectra ISP feature is also available in it, which can capture 36MP shots from all three cameras. Apart from this, it can also capture photos up to 200MP. There will also be support for 8K HDR. Not only this, its Bokeh engine has also been improved from the previous generation. This processor can capture 8K HDR video at 60FPS.
