The Apple Watch Series 8 has officially arrived in India, bringing a host of health and safety upgrades alongside the refreshed Apple Watch SE — with pricing starting at Rs. 29,900 for the SE and Rs. 45,900 for the Series 8.
Apple Watch Series 8 Features and Specifications
The Apple Watch Series 8 sports a large always-on Retina display capable of hitting up to 1,000 nits of brightness, available in 41mm and 45mm case sizes. Apple has added meaningful new health sensors this generation: a temperature sensor for ovulation estimates and cycle tracking joins the existing Blood Oxygen sensor and ECG app. Safety features include Crash Detection, Fall Detection, Emergency SOS, and International Emergency Calling — making this one of the most capable health wearables Apple has shipped.
Connectivity comes via GPS + Cellular, including international roaming support for older Apple Watch models on watchOS 9. The Series 8 carries an IP6X dust resistance rating and is swimproof. Battery life sits at 18 hours in standard use, extending to 36 hours when Apple's new Low Power Mode is active. In Low Power Mode the always-on display and automatic workout tracking switch off automatically, but activity tracking and Crash Detection remain live.
Colour options for the aluminum case are Midnight, Starlight, Silver, and (PRODUCT)RED. Stainless steel versions come in Silver, Gold, and Graphite. Nike and Hermès editions gain new Sport Loop bands and exclusive watch faces — Nike's new Sport Loop even features the Just Do It slogan woven into the band itself.

Apple Watch SE 2022 — The Affordable Entry Point
The second-generation Apple Watch SE is powered by the same S8 SiP dual-core CPU used in the Series 8, making it up to 20 percent faster than the original SE. It comes in 40mm and 44mm aluminum cases in Midnight, Starlight, and Silver. The back shell is redesigned in nylon, keeping the watch lighter than its predecessor while matching three original case styles.
Core health and safety features on the SE include activity tracking, high and low heart rate notifications, Crash Detection, Fall Detection, Emergency SOS, and International Emergency Calling. GPS + Cellular connectivity is included, as is access to the Compass app in watchOS 9. Cycle tracking is also available.
