iPhone 14 Pro smartphone may come with Always-on display, hints at iOS 16

According to a report by 9to5Mac, with the iOS 16 update, the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are likely to have an always-on display. According to the report, several hints of the feature can be found in Springboard and in components of the lock screen, which has received a major update with iOS 16. The publication found three new frameworks related to backlight management of the iPhone’s display within iOS 16. Be aware that backlight management is an important aspect of enabling the Always-On feature.

Talking about the specifications, the iPhone 14 Pro could have a 1Hz refresh rate mode on the OLED display for battery saving and Always On Display. Ross Young, CEO of Supply Chain Consultants, said on his Twitter that he expects the iPhone 14 Pro model to have a wider range of refreshes, with the ability to scale up to a 1Hz rate. The iPhone 14 Pro will come with a smaller 6-inch LTPO OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. The latest A16 Bionic chipset and 6GB LPDDR5 RAM will be available in the iPhone 14 Pro. Apple iPhone 14 Pro model will come with 8GB RAM and 120Hz refresh rate display. This iPhone could have a triple-rear camera setup, consisting of a 48MP primary camera and two 12MP cameras. In terms of design, the camera bump on this 2022 high-end iPhone will be 4.17mm thick, or 0.57mm bigger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
