Vivo's sub-brand iQOO has launched the iQOO Neo 5 smartphone in China, packing a 120Hz OLED display, the Snapdragon 870 chipset and 66-watt fast charging. Priced at 2,499 Yuan (about 28 thousand rupees), the phone goes on sale in China from March 22. There is no official word yet on an India launch, but given the strong response iQOO devices get from Indian users, the iQOO Neo 5 may arrive in India soon.
iQOO Neo 5 smartphone display and design
The phone has a 6.62-inch full HD+ OLED display with 1080x2400 pixel resolution. This thin-bezel, punch-hole panel offers a 120Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ support. Another standout feature is the 1000Hz instant touch sampling rate, which makes scrolling and gaming feel highly responsive. An in-display fingerprint sensor handles biometric unlocking.
Performance, camera and battery
The Neo 5 comes with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. It is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 870 chipset and runs on Android 11 OS. For photography, the phone has a triple rear camera setup: a 48-megapixel primary camera, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens and a 2-megapixel monochrome camera. There is a 16-megapixel front camera for selfies.
Keeping the lights on is a 4000mAh battery that supports 66-watt fast charging, so top-ups are quick. For connectivity, the phone has Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, 5G, a headphone jack and a USB Type-C port. It comes in Night Shadow Black, Cloud Shadow Blue and Pixel Orange colour options.
