A separate Geekbench appearance has surfaced alongside it, hinting at the processor and memory the device will carry. Together, these listings point to an imminent debut for an affordable Samsung handset.
Why the Samsung Galaxy M12 listings matter
According to a report by MySmartPrice, the phone appears on the BIS website under the model number M127G/DS, which is believed to be the Galaxy M12. The same listing also carries the model number SM-F127G/DS, thought to be linked to a Galaxy F12.
The BIS certification itself reveals little about the hardware. Earlier reports suggested both phones may be identical, with the Galaxy M12 surfacing as the Galaxy F12 in some markets. There is speculation that certain variants could arrive under the Galaxy F12 name.
The device is expected to succeed the Galaxy M11, which launched in March with entry-level specifications. From Samsung, this would extend the budget-focused M series further.
Expected specifications and features
A Samsung phone with the model number SM-M127F is listed on Geekbench, and this unit is associated with the Galaxy M12. The listing points to an Exynos 850 processor and 3GB of RAM, running Android 11. The Exynos 850 chip was introduced earlier with the Galaxy A21s.
Earlier this month, the model number M127F also appeared on the Bluetooth SIG and Wi-Fi Alliance websites. Those listings indicated Bluetooth 5.0 and single-band (2.4GHz) Wi-Fi support.
Leaked renders add more detail on the design:

Additional reports point to a 6.7-inch display and a large 7,000mAh battery. The phone is said to be in line for a launch at the beginning of 2021.
