Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Watch in China, a square-dial smartwatch built around long battery life and everyday fitness tracking. The Redmi Watch pairs a 1.4-inch HD display with 7 sports modes, NFC payments and up to 12 days of battery backup, making it a budget wearable aimed at users who want fewer charges and more uptime.

The Redmi Watch carries an attractive square dial with a 1.4-inch color HD display. The screen offers a resolution of 320x320 pixels and is protected by 2.5D glass.
Buyers can personalise the look with more than 100 watch faces, and the watch ships in three colours.

Fitness and health tracking features
The smartwatch supports 7 sport modes, covering activities such as running, cycling and swimming. It also tracks the wearer's heart rate around the clock, monitoring from sleep to sleep.
NFC is built in for contactless payments, while call and message notifications keep you connected to your phone.

A 230mAh battery powers the Redmi Watch. It delivers up to 12 days of backup in saver mode and 7 days in daily usage. A full charge takes 2 hours.

How the Mi Band 5 compares
For context, Xiaomi launched the global version of the Mi Band 5 in July. It uses a 1.1-inch AMOLED panel with a 126x29 pixel resolution, 16-bit color depth and a maximum brightness of 450 nits.
