The OPPO A53 5G is a budget-friendly 5G smartphone that the company has introduced in China, where it goes on sale from December 1. It could become the most affordable 5G phone in OPPO's lineup, arriving shortly after the 4G OPPO A53 expanded the brand's portfolio in the Indian market.
Spotted on the Product Library of China Telecom, the listing confirms the launch date along with pricing, display, processor and camera details. Here is what the leak tells us so far.
OPPO A53 5G price and variants
The China Telecom listing shows the phone in two memory configurations. Both ship with 128 GB of internal storage.
- 4 GB RAM + 128 GB storage at 1599 yuan (about 17,900 rupees)
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage at 1799 yuan (about 20,000 rupees)
Buyers will be able to choose from Streamer Purple, Lake Green and Secret Night Black colour options, according to the website.
Display, chipset and software
The handset is listed with a 6.53-inch full-HD+ LCD that uses a punch-hole design. The leaked images show slim bezels with a small chin at the bottom.
Under the hood, OPPO pairs an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 720 chipset with the two RAM options. The phone runs Android 10 with ColorOS on top.
Cameras
On the back, a triple rear camera sits in a square module on the top-left corner. It combines a 16-megapixel primary sensor with an LED flash and two 2-megapixel sensors. For selfies and video calls, the phone gets an 8-megapixel front camera.
Battery and security
A 3945mAh battery handles power backup. For security, the device includes a fingerprint sensor and also supports face unlock, alongside its basic connectivity features.
