The MacBook 2021 range tipped to arrive could include both Apple Silicon and Intel chips as options, according to fresh leaks. The claim follows TF Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who predicted that a redesigned MacBook line-up powered by Apple Silicon would launch in the second half of 2021. Now a separate tipster suggests Intel-powered models may also feature in that redesign.
What the MacBook 2021 range tipped leak claims
Noted tipster L0vetodream added that the redesigned MacBook models expected in the second half of 2021 will not only be Apple Silicon-based. He retweeted a MacRumors report on Kuo's predictions with the note not only for Silicon, hinting that the company will not limit the refresh to Apple Silicon-powered machines.
It is therefore presumed the tipster may be implying that more Intel-powered MacBooks will be part of the redesign strategy as well. Taken together, the two leaks point to a transitional line-up rather than a clean break from Intel.
Apple's wider shift away from Intel
At WWDC, Apple announced its intention to reduce reliance on Intel chips across its Mac line-up. The company said the full transition to Apple Silicon would take about two years to complete.
Earlier in the month, Apple introduced new versions of three popular machines built around its in-house M1 chip:
- MacBook Pro 13-inch
- MacBook Air
- Mac mini

The M1 system-on-chip pairs an eight-core CPU with a custom integrated GPU. The CPU splits into four high-power cores and four power-efficient cores, balancing performance with battery life.
