Every third iPhone sold in the country by 2025 will be Made in India, 25% of the products will be made in India.
Apple has been producing its iPhones in India for a long time. Apple has three plants in India where iPhones are produced, although Apple’s dependence on China for the production of other products, including iPhones, is still the most. Now a report by J.P.Morgan states that in the next three years i.e. by 2025, the product of iPhones in India is going to be on a large scale. Let us tell you that Apple produced the iPhone in India in 2017 with Wistron and later Foxconn is also producing the iPhone in India.
iPhone 14 also made in India
One out of every four iPhones sold in India will be Made in India by 2025. The report said that Apple is looking for a way out of China for the production of its product and India is finding it a better destination. According to experts, by the end of this year, Apple will shift about 5% of the production of iPhone 14 to India. The report also states that by 2025, 25 percent of all Apple products, including Macs, iPads, Apple Watches and AirPods, will be produced outside China, up from 5% currently. Taiwanese vendors Hon Hai and Pegatron play an important role in the production of iPhones in India.
Tata Group to make parts for Apple
Last month, a Bloomberg report said that the Tata Group has partnered with Wistron Corp. to manufacture the iPhone. If the talks between the Tata Group and the Taiwanese company are successful, Tata will be the first Indian business group to manufacture an iPhone. Tata may also buy a stake in Wistron’s Indian operations. Not only this, both the companies can also set up a new assembling plant together.
About 50 thousand new people can get jobs
According to a TechCrunch report, there are currently around 20,000 employees working at Foxconn’s Indian plant, compared to 3,50,000 at the company’s plant in China. In such a situation, new recruitment is expected on a large scale with the new plant. The company is said to be looking to increase the workforce from 20,000 to 50,000 in India.
