Google discontinued this smartphone before the launch of Pixel 6

Google recently launched Pixel 5a (5G) and with this the company has discontinued Pixel 4A 5G and Pixel 5. Both these models are listed on the company’s online store, although both have been sold. The phone is also not available with other retailers. A Google spokesperson has also confirmed this.

According to the spokesperson, the old stock of Pixel 4a (5G) and Pixel 5 are being exhausted and they are not being produced. Apart from this, new supplies will no longer be given at any store. The biggest reason behind the discontinuation of Pixel 4a 5G is that the company has recently launched Pixel 5a 5G in the market. Apart from this, Pixel 6 is also going to be launched soon.

This is not the first time that Google has discontinued one of its models. Prior to this, Pixel 4 and 4 XL have also been discontinued and that too within just a year of launch. Pixel 5a (5G) has been launched but so far there is no information about making it available in India. The Pixel 5a is currently available in Japan and the US.

The design of the new phone is similar to the Pixel 4a 5G launched in September last year. Apart from the design, the features are also similar to the old phone. The price of Google Pixel 5a 5G has been kept at $449 i.e. around Rs 33,400. The phone can be purchased only in 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. Google Pixel 5a 5G will be available only in Black color. 

Talking about the features, the phone has a 6.34-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1080×2400 pixels. The display has a refresh rate of 60Hz and supports HDR. The phone has Snapdragon 765G processor with Adreno 620 GPU graphics support. Google Pixel 5a 5G has 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB storage.
