Xplore Lifestyle launches world’s first smartwatch with medical certification.
Xplore Lifestyle has announced the launch of a smartwatch with irregular heart rate monitoring in partnership with an Israeli company. According to the company’s claim, this will be the first such smartwatch in the world that has got medical certification to monitor heart rate. The name of this smartwatch has been named CardiacSense. This device is medically recognized and certified by the European Union MDR and CE 2797.
CardiacThis medical device is capable of detecting any abnormal/irregular heartbeat especially atrial fibrillation (AFib) and normal heartbeat. Atrial fibrillation (AFib) is a life-threatening arrhythmia. This type of arrhythmia is the most dangerous. It accounts for about 70% of stroke incidence worldwide.
Sense has passed the total US FDA set thresholds on all parameters during trials. The device has a false detection rate (FDR) of 0.6% against the US FDA-mandated limit of 2% and provides more than 99% accurate results. CardiacSense features a patented, novel bio-sensing opto-mechanical sensor that monitors individual heartbeats in combination with advanced artifact sensors.
Patients suffering from chronic diseases like high blood pressure, chronic heart failure (CHF), COPD and sleep apnea can also be continuously monitored through this device. Doctors can conduct ECG test of patients remotely from their clinic and view ECG results at the same time. Due to this facility, diagnosis is done even when the patient does not come to the clinic. Information about the price and availability of this smartwatch will be available in September.
