Samsung introduced 200MP ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor, will do good photography in low light

Samsung announced the 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor last year. Now the company has introduced 200MP ISOCELL HP3 sensor. This camera sensor will be an upgraded model of the HP1 sensor that came last year. It will get 12 percent smaller sensor than the sensor with 0.64 micron pixels that came last year. Apart from this, this camera sensor can capture 8K quality video at 30fps. The company claims that while capturing video with this sensor, the possibility of field of view loss will be very less.

The South Korean company launched the 108MP camera sensor in 2019, which was first used in the 2020 Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra. For the last two years, the company’s 108MP sensor is being given in the flagship model. It is expected that this new 200MP ISOCELL HP3 sensor can be used in the upcoming Galaxy S23 Ultra. However, no such announcement has been made by the company.

The new 200MP ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor will support 1/1.4 optical format. It will get a sensor of 0.56 micron pixels, which will take up 20 percent less space than the previous generation. Samsung has used T2P (Tetra2Pixel) technology in ISOCELL HP3 sensor, which will allow 50MP sensor or 12.5MP sensor with 1.12 micron pixels or 2.24 micron pixel size to click better pictures in low light i.e. new camera sensor even in low light. will work better.

This new ISOCELL HP3 sensor from Samsung will get Smart ISO Pro mechanism, which will be able to click better Vivid HDR pictures. It will get ISO modes in low, mid and high range, which improves its dynamic range (DR). This sensor will get 14-bit color depth which will be able to capture more than 4 trillion colors in the clicked picture. Not only this, it will also get Smart ISO Pro and a feature to switch to staggered HDR.

The company has confirmed that samples of the ISOCELL HP3 camera sensor are currently available. Its mass production can be started by the end of the year. The ISOCELL HP1 sensor introduced last year can soon be seen in Motorola’s upcoming flagship phone.
