Mark Zuckerberg launches Portal Go and Portal+ through Facebook Live, know their special features and price
Mark Zuckerberg launched two new Portal devices via Facebook Live. Their names are Portal Go and Portal+. This is a video calling portal device from Facebook. The company first launched its Portal device in 2018 and this time the company has introduced the third generation device. Facebook CEO gave information about all the features, price and pre-booking of these two devices.
Mark Zuckerberg made a post on his Facebook page at around 10 am Indian time on 21 Sep, in which he wrote that ‘He is going to announce some new products through Facebook Live at 10:00AM PT i.e. 10:30 pm Indian time.’ Although his Facebook Live started with a delay of about half an hour, but when it happened, he launched Portal Go and Portal+. Highlights of Portal Go
Portol Go has a 10-inch screen. This is the company’s first battery powered product. Its big battery will give users a long backup. A charging port is given at its bottom. At the same time, there is a holder on its upper part, through which users can easily carry this device in their hand. Through this device, users can talk to their friends or relatives without any hindrance while moving from one room to another.
Features of Portal+
Talking about Portal+, its display size is bigger than Portal Go. Mark Zuckerberg, showing Portal+ on his Facebook Live, revealed that it has a wide 14-inch HD display, which can be tilted forward and backward. It comes with a compact design and users can fit it in any part of their home, be it their desk or kitchen. This device can be used for video calling with multiple friends or relatives simultaneously. According to the Facebook CEO, due to the large screen, it will get a different experience of video calling. Apart from this, the experience of playing games with your friends can also be taken in it.
Both portal price and pre-booking
Mark Zuckerberg also revealed the price of both these portal devices. The price of Portal Go is US $199 i.e. around Rs 14,680. At the same time, the price of Portal + is 349 US dollars i.e. around Rs 25,746. Users can pre-order both these devices through the portal website itself. Mark told that both these portal devices will be delivered from next month.
Household mode will be a special service
Apart from this, Mark Zuckerberg has also announced some new Software Experience Services. This includes Household Mode and Portal for Business. These will have the support of Microsoft Teams, through which users will be able to easily connect with their friends, colleagues and family. Through Household Mode, you can share your portal with anyone in your home. Through this, many people in your family can get access to the apps and contacts of the portal. It will start in the next month i.e. October.
Apart from this, Mark told that he has also updated the Facebook Watch Together experience. Now users will be able to watch Facebook Watch content even while talking on Messenger calls. If you are on Messenger through Portal and a friend of yours is also on call from phone, tablet or laptop, you will still be able to view Facebook Watch content.
WhatsApp calls on the portal were already end-to-end encrypted but now Messenger calls will also remain end-to-end encrypted. Apart from this, in the coming few months, users will also get multi-device WhatsApp support on the portal.
Portal for business is also interesting
In the case of the new software service, the name of the second feature is Portal for Business. This is for small business people. Through this, companies can create work accounts for different teams and manage their business by giving new Portal Go or Portal+ to their employees. In this new work account, the company will also be able to use its own e-mail address. Mark said that through these new portal devices and the new features coming in it, the remote-work experience of the users will also be better. Apart from this, Mark Zuckerberg informed that he is going to make some more new announcements through Facebook Live at the end of this month.
